Copyleft Copyleft

What is copyleft?

Copyleft in the strict sense is the form of copyright license used in the GNU Public License (GPL) by the Free Software Foundation. This is really only directly appliciable to computer software, so here I use the term in a looser sense, meaning roughly "copyright used to ensure users freedom, rather than taking it away from them".

So, what may I do with the material on this site?

With the material I possess copyright to - text, data, tables, images, diagrams, maps etc. - you are allowed to do the following, without asking for a permit:

On the other hand, you may not, without first getting my consent:

Material on this site, to which I do not possess copyright - e.g. some images - are used with the consent of the copyright holders, respectively, who retain all rights and decide on what conditions their material may be used.
